Overview
This two-day program provides a complete overview of the most popular soft tissue management procedures as well as the Standard Proficiency Level Course according to the Curriculum for Dental Laser Education as recognized by the Academy of Laser Dentistry. This course contains both lecture and hands-on learning opportunities and includes a comprehensive overview and basic understanding of laser physics, laser tissue interactions, and safety.
Education Objectives
The overall intent of this course is to give you the knowledge and skills to practice with lasers competently and confidently. During the program, you will:
- Understand scientific & clinical principles of lasers in dentistry
- Learn basic laser physics and segmentation of wavelengths
- Understand the nature of light, spectrum, and laser wavelengths
- Learn laser safety and infection control
- Understand the basic elements of laser tissue interaction
- Learn the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic applications for soft/hard tissue lasers
- Acquire thorough knowledge of a CO2 laser set up, delivery system, power settings, and protocols
- Gain practical experience through hands-on clinical simulation
- Learn to successfully integrate laser use in treatment diagnosis and plans
- Be part of discussions on histology, biology, post-operative expectations, pain management and medications.
Special Training for Hygienists
Integrating lasers into all areas of patient treatment, this course offers dedicated training for hygienists, emphasizing laser-assisted non-surgical periodontal therapy. Attention is given to developing skills and building each hygienist’s confidence in working with the laser as an instrument.
Previous Training or Preparation Required?
No prior laser experience or knowledge required. It is recommended that you own a laser for practice application post-course.

We are committed to engaging your entire practice in the learning process, by including each member involved with the patient treatment, from clinical to business “touches” with your patients.
Our On-Site Team Training program offers “real life” education. This means we ensure that our training applies to everyday practice experiences. We have designed this program to work for your specific practice, including clinical applications, office structure and systems, and patient interactions on a daily basis. We provide hands-on training in practical methods that build confidence in the procedures taught during the program.
